THE HOUSE
Le Temps Retrouvé has a one and a half century rich history. We endeavoured to wake up this sleeping beauty that is so uniquely located in Sarlat!
Built in 1881 then enlarged in 1922, we undertook in 2021 a big restoration with a local architect and local artisans, to rehabilitate and magnify this heritage house. Although modern comfort was added, the charm of the old is reminded by an occasional creak here and there!
Besides their own rooms, guests have access to all living spaces on the ground floor with their original features. Choose between the library, the living room, the dining room or the veranda to read, to listen to music, to have a drink, to meet with friends, to interact with us or other guests and of course to have breakfast ...
THE PARK
The park at Le Temps Retrouvé was designed around the same period when the house was built.
The hillside terraces were originally dedicated to grow fruits and vegetables and also served as vineyards. All levels possess impressive old stone walls. The park today gathers a majestic collection of trees - some more than 100 years old.
While keeping its original shape, we partly let nature get its way. It holds many corners with different moods and views. In this lung of greenery there are multiple spots to isolate or observe the flora and fauna while being a stone's throw away from Sarlat's Cathedral.
THE WELLNESS AREA
For the relaxation of body and mind, Le Temps Retrouvé offers a 25m 2 spa. It is equipped with a cedar wood sauna, a hammam with essential oils and a jacuzzi placed under a "sparkling galaxy" sky ...

THE SAUNA
The dry sauna has a temperature of 65° C. The cabin accommodates 2 people seated under a ceiling of 190 cm in heigth.
The intense heat accelerates the sweating process and thus the elimination of toxins while purifying the skin and softening the muscles!
THE HAMMAM
The natural stone steam bath offers 2 seats in a small cabin where the temperature rises up to 45° C.
The steam combined with essential oils provide you with soothing benefits: clear sinuses, relax muscles and dilate the pores of the skin!
THE JACUZZI
An immersion in a hot 37° C whirlpool produces relaxing effects by hydrotherapy: it stimulates blood circulation and has a positive impact on digestive disorders, cellulite or heavy legs.
The spa has 2 lying places and the sparkling milky way above!
THE SWIMMING POOL
With hot weather, you may want to refresh in the 4 by 9m swimming pool. Only heated naturally by the sun, its temperature may rise up to 24/25° in the middle of summer.
Free access to all our guests from mid-May to mid-September from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Le Temps Retrouvé is the fruit of a longstanding relationship that started in 2003. After our first B&B Bouchardon experience in our Parisian apartment between 2010-2015, we now wanted to welcome our guests in a house with a bucolic setting, while enjoying, the urban life and its amenities, only a few steps away.
Thus, began the adventure Le Temps Retrouvé in Sarlat, jewel of the Périgord Noir!
YOUR HOSTS
Jozsef, danseur au sein de la compagnie de Maurice Béjart dans les années 80, a exercé sa créativité dans plusieurs disciplines : mannequinat, événementiel, photographie, informatique et gestion administrative d'une maison prestigieuse. La mise en scène a toujours été son fil rouge et le Temps Retrouvé son nouveau terrain de jeu. Lui , il vous posera les questions sur votre vie ;-) Néerlandais d'origine hongroise, il parle le néerlandais, l'allemand, l'anglais, le français et l'italien.
Our house, set within a 1.7-ha park, is certified as an LPO sanctuary. This certification reflects our dedication to creating and maintaining conditions conducive to the conservation of local wildlife and flora, in accordance with the "LPO Sanctuary" charter. Guests can look forward to delightful encounters with nature during their stay with us!
Frédéric, was an executive for 20 years in the Ministry of Interior, specialized in the fight against illicit trafficking of cultural property and international cooperation.
In 2016, he joined la Maison Louis Vuitton as a security manager and travelled across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Open to world subjects, culture and heritage, Le Temps Retrouvé is now his full-time passion.
While being French, he is proud of his Polish and Italian heritage. He speaks French, English and - shyly - Italian.
We adopted our dog Olia from the animal rescue center in Chameyrat in February 2024. Despite a less than desirable start to life, Olia is a bundle of attention and kindness. She has seamlessly integrated into the life of our home, becoming a welcoming and gentle host to our guests.
