FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are pets allowed at LTR ?
In order to preserve everyone’s peace and quiet, as well as the local flora and fauna that you will enjoy observing on the LTR site, and taking into account the presence of our dog Olia, we unfortunately cannot accept pets belonging to our guests.

 

Is there a lift to access the bedrooms ?
The house dates from 1881/1922 and its layout did not allow for the installation of a lift, beyond aesthetic considerations. However, the floors are served by a wide and comfortable staircase (20 steps to the first floor and 38 steps in total to the second floor).

Can I choose my room ?
During the high season (May to September), reserving a specific room within the booked category is complicated. Outside the high season, requests can be made, but we cannot guarantee them 100 percent.

 

Do you provide a room key ?
Yes, each room has its own lock.

 

Is there a safe in the room ?
Each room is equipped with a safe (internal dimensions h x w x d: 16 x 33 x 31 cm) that can be secured with a personal digital code. LTR declines all responsibility in the event of theft. If you are concerned about valuables, please contact us so that we can find a suitable solution.

 

Is there air conditioning in the rooms ?
The house has been fully insulated to retain warmth in winter and keep cool in summer. Its stone walls and shutters on all windows reinforce protection during periods of high heat. For this reason, we chose not to install air conditioning. The temperature, both in summer and winter, is regulated by a reversible heat pump that maintains a pleasant and constant indoor temperature.

 

Why is LTR not suitable for young children ?
The house is perched on a rock and surrounded by high walls, remnants of former vineyard and market garden terraces. More generally, the very uneven layout of the site does not allow us to host young children safely and serenely.

 

Which areas of the house are accessible ?
In addition to your room, you have shared access on the first floor to the tea room, offering bottled water, coffee, teas and herbal infusions. On the ground floor, you can read, relax, meet other guests or meet us in the library, lounge, dining room or conservatory. In fine weather, you can also enjoy several outdoor areas around the house.

Can several people use the wellness area at the same time ?
Each facility (jacuzzi, steam room, sauna) can accommodate two people at a time, but the wellness area is comfortable enough to welcome up to four people, among friends, using the facilities in turn. See prices here.

 

Is smoking allowed at LTR ?
The entire house is strictly non smoking, including at windows, on balconies, terraces or under the pergola. However, on request, we can provide an ashtray for use on the outdoor area in front of the house.

 

What is the possible arrival time ?
We welcome you between 4.00 pm and 6.30 pm. For arrivals outside this time frame, please inform us 24 hours in advance so that we can organise ourselves where possible. For everyone’s peace of mind, arrivals after 9.30 pm are not accepted.

 

What time must the room be vacated ?
The room must be vacated by 11.00 am. If our booking schedule allows, you may keep the room longer. For your peace of mind and ours, a brief room check is carried out at departure.

 

Is the room cleaned during the stay ?
Rooms are checked and cleaned daily. Bed linen is changed every five days and towels every three days.

 

Do you offer laundry and ironing for personal items ?
LTR can take care of washing and ironing your laundry. For this paid service, we provide a laundry bag with a capacity of 4 kg for a wash at 40 degrees. Laundry is dried and returned neatly folded within 24 hours. As an option, we can iron shirts, t shirts, skirts or trousers. See prices here.

 

Can we encounter animals in the park or the house ?
Yes. In addition to our dog Olia, wildlife is very present in the park. You will have the opportunity to observe many birds, squirrels and, with a little luck, roe deer. Countryside in the city also means mosquitoes, including the tiger mosquito, spiders and more rarely snakes, in particular grass snakes, a protected and very useful species.

 

Can we walk in the park ?
Yes, of course, but vigilance is required to avoid falls (branches, roots, ruts, cliffs and high walls, uneven steps, etc.), and we strongly recommend wearing appropriate footwear (no smooth soles).
The swimming pool in the park remains easily accessible. However, for safety reasons, walking in the park is prohibited during strong winds due to the risk of falling branches.

Do you have parking ?
LTR has an outdoor car park with eight spaces within the grounds of the park. Access is controlled and under video surveillance. However, we decline all responsibility in the event of any problem. Two spaces are equipped with electric vehicle charging points. See prices here.

 

What time is breakfast served ?
Breakfast is served at the table between 8.00 am and 10.30 am. You can choose between an express service or the LTR breakfast. See prices here. In case of early departure, we can prepare a takeaway breakfast the day before.

 

Can you provide special breakfasts in case of allergy or intolerance ?
Yes, we can adapt breakfast to your allergies. Simply inform us at the time of booking.

 

Why do you ask for identification on arrival ?
Staying at LTR means staying in our own home, even during our moments of absence. Presenting an ID is, for us, a sign of mutual trust that we wish to establish with our guests. Only the number of your document will be recorded, exclusively for room rental purposes. Please feel free to share any concerns or alternative suggestions with us.

 

Can we use the swimming pool on the day of departure ?
Yes. In fine weather, even after vacating the room, you may enjoy the swimming pool. An outdoor shower is available near the pool, as well as a pool house where you can change.

 

Why are your prices inclusive of tax ?
LTR is managed accounting wise as a company. A VAT rate of 10 percent applies to the room rate and breakfasts. All other products and services offered by LTR are subject to a VAT rate of 20 percent.

 

What payment methods are accepted for the stay ?
Payment for the stay is only possible by bank transfer or cash.

 

Can I charge my electric vehicle ?
Two parking spaces are equipped with slow charging points. This option is available on request and is charged. See prices here.

 

Is there an LTR house charter ?
As in any home, a minimum of house rules is necessary, in particular:

  • for everyone’s peace and quiet, please keep noise levels low, especially in the evening, at night and early in the morning

  • please take care of the vintage furniture in the rooms and reception areas so that you and future guests can enjoy it in the best conditions

  • no self service use of the kitchen, which is strictly private, and no consumption of meals in the rooms

  • please inform us of any special needs or remarks so that we can take them into account without delay

Can we eat in the room ?
For hygiene reasons and to preserve the furniture, meals are not allowed in the rooms. Thanks to its location in Sarlat, LTR offers a wide choice of restaurants, with various budgets, all within a 10 minute walk. Discover our favourite food spots and we will be happy to manage your reservations.

 

Is there good 4G coverage ?
The town of Sarlat has good 4G coverage, and 5G is also being rolled out. In terms of best performance, operators rank as follows: Orange, SFR, Bouygues and Free.

 

Is the WiFi good in the house ?
With Orange as our internet provider, LTR has a fibre connection since 2023, with WiFi repeaters installed on each floor. While there may occasionally be brief disconnections, the WiFi signal is generally reliable throughout the house. Please note that WiFi is not available in the garden or at the swimming pool.

 

Is the LTR site quiet ?
Insulation and soundproofing of the house were completely redesigned during renovation (floors, walls, doors and windows) to minimise noise as much as possible. As the house is old, occasional creaks or footsteps cannot be excluded. In addition, being located in town, traffic noise is audible outside and sometimes perceptible inside.

 

Do you offer table d’hôtes dinners ?
LTR does not offer table d’hôtes and the kitchen is not accessible for preparing your own meals. However, we advise you on a wide choice of restaurants (visit our page) in Sarlat, all within a 10 minute walk, and in the surrounding area. We also provide a dedicated space with a refrigerator and cutlery so that you can organise picnics outside the house.

 

Why do we have to pay a tourist tax ?
The tourist tax is a French tax intended to help finance expenses related to tourist activity and the protection of natural areas for visitors. It is paid per person, according to the number of nights and the category of accommodation. In 2025, the tourist tax in Sarlat is set at 0.88 euros per night per person.

 

How does the first floor tea and refreshment corner work ?
During your stay, you have access to the tea and refreshment corner. Coffee, teas, herbal infusions and still and sparkling water are provided free of charge. For everyone’s peace and quiet, especially for neighbouring rooms, please use the tea room calmly and avoid serving yourself early in the morning or late in the evening.

 

Can we come to LTR by train for a car free stay ?
Yes. There are around five Bordeaux to Sarlat trains per day (journey time approximately 2 hours 25 minutes). LTR is located a 6 minute walk from Sarlat train station. For a fully relaxing stay focused on visits and meals within Sarlat, no car is necessary. On site, we also rent electric bicycles, allowing more active guests to discover nearby tourist sites.
The second closest station is Souillac, about a 30 minute drive from LTR. A taxi transfer is required, which we can book for you. See prices here.

 

Can we leave our luggage after check out ?
Yes, we can store your luggage without any problem until your final departure.
